Ian is a barrister with nearly 20 years’ experience. Ian has attended hundreds of
admission appeal hearings on behalf of parents, schools and as legal advisor (clerk)
to the appeal panel. Ian provides training on the appeals process to panel members,
school governors and legal advisors.
Ian also undertakes exclusion reviews, special needs tribunals and other education
work relating to pupil discipline, governors, school staff & employment, NQT appeals,
school finance & property, free schools, SEN & disability, academies/free schools,
& Ombudsman complaints.
Ian also undertakes a wide range of other direct access work (usually for a fixed
fee), as well as accepting instructions from solicitors. This includes providing
